André Grand silk ties

Silk ties folded in three layers — a classic of Italian craftsmanship.

Selection instead of mass production

We do not believe in things made for a single season. We believe in objects chosen consciously — for their material, the way they are made, and the details that can only be appreciated when you look at them up close. That is why the André Grand collection is created differently. Instead of mass production, we choose short runs, noble materials and craftsmanship. Every piece has its origin, its story and the people behind its making. This is a world built on quality that does not need a logo to explain it.

Silk from Como

Silk holds a special place in our collection. All the silks we use are made in the Como region of Italy — a place that for centuries has remained one of the most important centres of European silk-making. The history of silk in Como goes back to the Renaissance. Over the following centuries, weaving mills, print works and specialised manufactories developed here, and knowledge of working with silk was passed from generation to generation. It is precisely this blend of tradition, technology and extraordinary experience that made Como synonymous with silk of the highest class and a place with which the world’s most demanding fashion houses still collaborate today.

We too chose Como, but we do not use ready-made collections. Our silks are produced especially for André Grand, according to our own designs. From pattern and colour composition to the final finish — each one is made with our collection in mind. Thanks to that, the patterns we choose are part of the André Grand world, not a random pick from a catalogue.

Craftsmanship you see up close

The best material is only the beginning. Equally important to us is what happens to it afterwards. Our products are made in specialised workshops in Italy and Poland, in the hands of experienced artisans. This is especially clear in our silk pieces, whose making includes a series of manual stages: hand-cutting forms, preparing and shaping elements, and hand finishing.

One of the most distinctive details is the hand-rolled silk edges. A delicate roll along the fabric edge is formed and stitched by hand, centimetre by centimetre. It is a demanding technique that requires time, precision and experience. Forms are likewise cut by hand, and fillings prepared by hand. It is these seemingly small elements that best show the difference between a product made by craftsmanship and one made industrially.

Less, but better

We do not want to make everything. We want to make things we ourselves would want to own — beautiful at first glance, but even more interesting when you take them in your hand and see how they are made. That is why, instead of constantly expanding the collection, we prefer to select it, seek the best materials and refine every detail. From silk designed for us in Como to the last hand stitch. This is our world.
